New Blood: Romone Rose
Droylsden are pleased to announce the signing of winger Romone Rose whose move was confirmed on our official website last Friday! For those who are unfamiliar with Romone here are all the things you need to know about the exciting young winger.
Born in Reading in 1990 the 24 year old’s footballing career began at Queens Park Rangers where he started as a trainee, Rose went on to be part of The R’s under-18 team that won the Youth Alliance League title in 2007. Romone made 6 appearances for QPR’s senior team in an unfortunate spell at the club which saw him loaned out a number of times and struggle to break into the then Football League Championship side. Romone went onto feature 14 times for AFC Wimbledon and scored four times whilst on loan at the club, he was then loaned out a further three times to football league clubs before his contract at QPR came to an end, however he struggled to get playing time.
Rose will bring plenty of experience to Droylsden even though he is still only young, he has played at Wembley Stadium in the FA Trophy final during his time at Newport County who he signed for in 2012 and was fortunate enough to be a member of the same squad as one of Footballs’ all time greats Robbie Fowler during his short stay at Thai football club Muangthong United.
After a very stop-start career Rose will be hoping to firstly establish himself as a first teamer for Droylsden and secondly to show all the potential and talent that lead to him wearing the Blue and White of QPR. I would imagine The Greenside Lane Enders will be thinking of songs for the new Blood as I type this, and I can’t wait to hear them as the explosive winger is wreaking havoc for opposing defences in the Evo Stik North Division One. Welcome To Droylsden FC Romone!
